Overview
Airlines for Europe (A4E) came to us with a website that no longer reflected the scale or pace of its work. Years of content had made the structure harder to navigate, while the existing setup made routine updates more cumbersome than they needed to be for a small communications team.
We redesigned the site around A4E’s policy work, creating a clearer information architecture that connects policy topics with relevant news and publications, while linking team members to their areas of expertise. Alongside the website, we evolved the existing identity into a more confident digital system, with stronger typography, clearer hierarchy, more purposeful imagery and a flexible visual language.

Structured around their work
A4E’s policy areas shape the site architecture and tagging, connecting related news, publications and policy topics.

Policy-first information architecture
The site is organised around what A4E actually does: policy topics, news, publications, members and people

Putting members front and centre
Giving members a more visible role throughout the site reinforces A4E's scale, credibility and collective voice.
Result
The result is a clearer, more flexible platform that brings A4E’s policy work to the foreground while being substantially easier to maintain. Visitors can move naturally from a policy priority to the latest news and publications, instead of navigating disconnected sections, while the refreshed identity gives the organisation a more contemporary and consistent digital presence. Behind the scenes, structured collections, reusable components and carefully organised CMS fields allow the communications team to manage most day-to-day updates themselves. For an association with a lean internal team and a large amount of evolving policy content, that independence is a central part of the redesign: the website can continue to grow without becoming increasingly difficult to run.
