Overview
BPIE approached us to design their 2025 Annual Report at a point where they were rethinking how their research was presented. As a leading think tank working on the decarbonisation of Europe’s built environment, their content is rigorous and often quite dense, but previous publications didn’t fully reflect the ambition of their work. The goal was to move closer to an editorial approach while staying within their existing identity. We pushed their visual system further, introducing a refined typographic system, higher contrast layouts, and more deliberate use of imagery to make the content easier to navigate across both print and digital formats.
Result
The final report presents a clearer and more engaging reading experience, making it easier to move through complex content without losing depth. The structure and layout help guide the reader, while giving the publication a more distinctive and confident feel. The response has been very positive, with stakeholders describing it as a “stylish departure” from previous editions. More importantly, the report is being actively read and revisited, showing that a more editorial approach can significantly improve how this type of content is experienced.
